Please note that moving-in notifications under the special provisions for moving-in notifications (転入届の特例) cannot be accepted at the Wednesday night and Sunday service counters. 水曜夜間および日曜窓口では転入届の特例による転入届の受付はできませんのでご注意ください。

(Caution) From 令和7年12月2日 onwards, health insurance cards will expire and cannot be used as identity verification documents. （注意）令和7年12月2日以降、健康保険証は有効期限が切れるため、本人確認書類として使用することはできません。

The after-hours window normally only takes custody of your paperwork — a 戸籍 clerk checks it on the next working day.

Family register notifications received outside office hours at the 夜間・休日受付 (Night and Holiday Reception Desk) (宿直室 [Night Duty Room]) will undergo content verification and review by staff of the 戸籍係 (Family Register Section) after the office opens. (The review takes several days.) If there are omissions and defects in the notification form, we will call the submitter, so please be sure to write a telephone number on the form where you can be contacted during opening hours. (There may also be cases where you are requested to visit the 区役所 [Ward Office] again.) Please note that the acceptance is retroactive to the date of filing, so the filing date (the date submitted to the government office) becomes the acceptance date. 時間外に夜間・休日受付（宿直室）で受領した戸籍届書は、開庁後に戸籍係職員が内容の確認審査を行います。（審査に数日かかります。）届書に記入漏れや不備があった場合には、届出人の方にお電話いたしますので、必ず開庁時間に連絡が可能な電話番号を届書に記入してください。（再度区役所に来ていただく場合もあります。）なお、受理は届出日に遡って受理いたしますので、届出日（役所に提出した日）が受理日となります。

At 豊洲特別出張所 (Toyosu Special Branch Office), marriage notifications (婚姻届) cannot be accepted if either or both spouses are foreign nationals. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please submit your notification to 江東区役所戸籍係 (Koto City Office, Family Register Section). 豊洲特別出張所では、夫妻のどちらかまたは両方が外国籍の方の婚姻届は受付できません。お手数ですが、江東区役所戸籍係にお届け下さいますようお願いいたします。

Worth knowing when registering a marriage

If a foreign national is the submitter of the notification, please undergo a prior preliminary examination. If you have not undergone this examination, a decision on acceptance on the day may not be possible, and there is a possibility that other related procedures or the issuance of certificate documents cannot be completed. 外国籍の方が届出人となる届は事前審査を受けてください。受けていない場合は、当日の受理決定ができず、他の関連手続きや証明書類の取得はできない可能性があります。
Please note that Certificates of Acceptance cannot be issued and certifications for Maternal and Child Health Handbooks cannot be processed at the night/holiday reception (宿直室, night duty room). 夜間・休日受付（宿直室）では受理証明書の発行や母子手帳の証明等はできませんのでご注意下さい。
Upon submitting a notification of marriage, we will verify the identity of the person who visits the counter. Please bring a My Number Card, driver's license, passport, etc., that can verify your identity. 婚姻の届出に際して、窓口においでいただいた方の本人確認をさせていただきます。本人確認ができるマイナンバーカード・免許証・パスポート等をお持ちください。
If you submit a notification during the Wednesday counter hours extension or Sunday counter service opening (in principle, the 2nd Sunday), and an inquiry to another municipality is required, it will be treated as provisional receipt, and resident registration procedures cannot be completed on that day. (Issuance of a Certificate of Residence reflecting the marriage notification is also not available.) 水曜日の窓口延長及び日曜日の窓口開設（原則第2日曜日）で届出をされる場合で、他の市区町村に問い合わせが必要な時は、受領扱いとなり、住民登録の手続きがその日にできません。（婚姻届を反映した住民票の発行もできません。）
