About TokyoHelp
A free, multilingual network where people living in Greater Tokyo help each other with the small things that are hard in a new place.
Why it exists
Moving to Tokyo is exciting — and full of little walls: a form at the ward office, a lease in Japanese, a hospital visit, a fridge that won't fit through the door. Locals and long-time residents have already solved these. TokyoHelp connects the two.
For everyone here
TokyoHelp is for all foreign residents and expats across Greater Tokyo — every nationality and language. English, 中文, and 日本語 are first-class, and posts are auto-translated so language is never the barrier.
Mutual aid, not a marketplace
This is neighbours helping neighbours. The MVP is completely free, with no fees and no commission. The goal is a kinder, more connected Tokyo — not another gig app.
Where we start
We cover all 23 Tokyo wards, the Tama area, and Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama — building density first in Shinjuku, Toshima, Nerima, and Minato.
