Bring the 在留カード for everyone who moved. Several wards will make you return a second time without it.

Foreign residents, please bring your Residence Card (在留カード) or other identification. 外国人住民の方は在留カード等をお持ちください。
Mid-to-long-term residents newly entering Japan should bring their Residence Card (在留カード) (or passport for those who were not issued a Residence Card at the airport, etc.), and Special Permanent Residents should bring their Special Permanent Resident Certificate (特別永住者証明書). 新たに日本に入国した中長期在留者の方は在留カード（空港等で在留カードが交付されなかった方については、パスポート）を、特別永住者の方は特別永住者証明書をお持ちください。
If there are other foreign residents in the same household, the original document proving the relationship (issued by a public institution such as the government of your home country, such as a birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.) and its Japanese translation will be required. 同じ世帯に他に外国人住民の方がいる場合は、続柄を証明できる文書（本国の政府等公的機関が発行したもので、出生証明書、婚姻証明書など）の原本と日本語の翻訳文が必要となります。

Worth knowing when moving in

Applications cannot be accepted on dates prior to the day you actually begin living at the address. 住み始める前の日では受付はできません。
Applications cannot be accepted at the Chuo City Ward Main Office (中央区役所本庁舎), Nihonbashi Special Branch Office (日本橋特別出張所), or Tsukishima Special Branch Office (月島特別出張所). 中央区役所本庁舎、日本橋特別出張所、月島特別出張所では受付できません。
Please note that you cannot complete the moving-in procedure (転入) until you have actually started living at your new address in Chuo City (中央区). 転入の手続きは実際に中央区の新しい住所に住み始めていないと手続きができませんのでご注意ください。

For those who have difficulty submitting notifications during opening hours, notifications can be deposited at the 休日・夜間窓口 (Holiday and Night Window) (区役所本庁舎1階宿直室 [Ward Office Main Building 1st Floor Night-Duty Room]). The deposited notifications will be examined on the next opening day (excluding Sundays) to determine whether they can be accepted. In the event of deficiencies or issues, we will contact you, so please be sure to provide a telephone number on the notification where you can be reached during the daytime. If there are deficiencies in the notification, or missing entries and incomplete attached documents, you may be requested to visit the ward office again at a later date during opening hours. Please check to ensure that there are no omitted entries on the notification. For this reason, prior consultation at the ward office is recommended for those submitting at the 時間外受付 (After-Hours Reception). 開庁時間内の届出が難しい方は休日・夜間窓口（区役所本庁舎1階宿直室）で届書をお預かりします。お預かりした届書は、翌開庁日（日曜日を除く）に審査し受理の可否を決定します。不備等があった場合は連絡を行いますので、必ず日中連絡がとれる電話番号を届書にご記入ください。届書の不備・記載や添付書類の不足がある場合には、後日、区役所の開庁時間に再度来庁をお願いすることがあります。届書の記載漏れがないようにご確認ください。そのため、時間外受付に提出される方は、区役所での事前相談をおすすめします。

If the marriage was established under the laws of a foreign country, or if you are marrying a foreign national, the required documents are different, so please inquire at the 区民生活課戸籍係 (Resident Life Division, Family Register Section). 外国の方式により婚姻が成立している場合、及び外国籍の方と婚姻する場合は必要な書類が異なりますので、区民生活課戸籍係にお問い合わせください。
Because legal effect takes place upon submitting the marriage notification, there is no deadline for notification. Note: If married under the laws of a foreign country, you must submit a notification within 3 months from the date of marriage establishment to the local embassy, consulate, or the municipality of your registered domicile (honsekichi) or current location. 婚姻届出により法律上の効力が生じるので届出期間はありません。注記：外国の方式で婚姻した場合は、婚姻成立の日から3か月以内に現地の大使館、領事館または、本籍地、もしくは届出人の所在地の区市町村に届出をする必要があります。
When submitting the notification, please bring identity verification documents, such as a driver's license, for the person coming to the counter. 届出の際は、窓口にお越しになる方の運転免許証などの本人確認書類をお持ちください。
